About InCommon

What is InCommon?

InCommon is a free online social community where members make new connections based on common interests. You can share information, resources, photos, commentary and more with other people who have your same passions, developing friendships and making real-world connections. InCommon is driven by you, the member, whether you’re new to town, new to a hobby, or just looking for new people to meet.

InCommon Story

My name is J.R. Owens and I am one of the founding partners of InCommon. The idea for InCommon was born in 2008. When I found myself divorced and isolated in a city with few close friends. I began searching for ways to find people who shared my interests in college football, live music, and kite boarding. I was searching for people who understood why I was so passionate about these things. I figured if I could find someone who shared any combination of my interests, then that person would be someone I’d enjoy spending time with. In addition to connecting with people locally, I also wanted the ability to communicate and network with people around the world who shared my interests. And I wanted it all from one website. I hope that InCommon will enable us all to make new and unique connections.

Thank you for visiting InCommon. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with your thoughts or opinions.
